And the rain kept falling

Normally, this sign is about 8-10'
up from the Sammamish River's banks
The rain, fueled by what is not-so-lovingly referred to as a "Pineapple Express" has been dumping for over 12 hours now.  The Sammamish River, running right behind our development north into Lake Washington is at it's limits.  It's a result of a massive accumulation of snow in the nearby Cascade Mountains followed by a "jump" in the snowline and tons of rain.  The snow melts and the river rises.  Presto - floods.  A lot of the underpasses (where the Sammamish River Trail dips under NE 90th Street for example) are flooded.  Nothing too serious, but Fall City, Carnation and other towns build in the flood plains farther east are dealing with some major flooding.
See a quick video of the river here.
